AP Jagannan Gorumadda Scheme 2021

AP Midday Meal Scheme is a school meal program of the Government of Andhra Pradesh. Designed to improve the nutritional outlook of school age children. The program supplies free lunches on working days to children in primary and upper primary classes in government / government aided schools.

Saturday Rice, Sambar and Sweet Pongal

AP Chief Minister YS Jagan has also announced an increase in honorarium for mid-day meal workers. During 2019-20, about 36.59 lakh children in 45,236 schools benefitted from hot cooked nutritious food.

AP Jagannan Gorumadda Scheme (MDM Menu) Implementation

  • All District Educational Officers (DEO) of AP State are informed that the Mid Day Meal Scheme is being implemented in all the schools of the government. Model School / NCLP / Madrasa for students studying from class I to X in the state. According to the orders of the government, the said eggs are to be given to all the students under the Mid Day Meal Scheme four times a week.
  • The above MDM menu should be implemented in all schools under the Mid Day Meal Scheme and the authorities should ensure that the egg is being served for a specified time in a week.

Further, all DEOs are instructed to ensure that the MDM bills for the previous month’s bills are submitted to the Treasury Office by the 5th of every month and the payment is made by the 10th of every month. Any kind of laxity will be seen seriously in the implementation of the Mid Day Meal Scheme.

Background of Jagannan Gorumadda (MDM) Scheme

The Jagannan Gorumadda (MDM) scheme was launched by the Government of India to help poor students from rural and urban areas and address issues of nutrition, food security and access to education. With the help of this program, government aided children for children in primary, upper primary classes, local bodies are provided free lunch in STC, Madrasas and Maktabs i.e. under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA).

The Jagannanna Gorumadda Scheme was launched in January 2003 for children studying in primary schools (classes 1 to V) and in October 2008, for children studying in upper primary schools (classes VI to VIII) and for children. . In high schools (class IX & X) with 100% state fund. This was extended to children studying in special schools under NCLP from the academic year 2010-11.
