The Telangana State Government has issued new guidelines of the Single Women Pension Scheme, under which every eligible single women will get Rs. 2016 per month as pension. The scheme was launched on 2 June 2017 on Telangana State Formation Day. Beneficiary single women should not be enrolled in any other social security pension scheme or pensioner in any public or private pension scheme. Eligibility for TS Single Women Pension Scheme 2021
According to the new guidelines, a single female beneficiary should not have an income of more than Rs. 1.5 lakhs annually in rural areas and Rs. 2.0 lakhs in urban areas. “Single women” refers to married women of at least 18 years who live separately from their husbands. The separation period must be at least one year. If women do not have evidence of a separation period, the details can be ascertained by the local tehsildar.
Unmarried women whose age is more than 30 years in rural areas and 35 years in urban areas are eligible to avail the Single Women Pension Scheme. Other women who are eligible for single women pension scheme

– Farmers’ widows, handloom workers, bread earners who committed suicide or died in accidents
There are around 2.4 lakh single women in the state who will be benefitted from the scheme as per the survey conducted by the PR and RD departments. The cost of the scheme is about Rs. 34 crores per month.
If the single woman remarries and they find permanent employment or economic stability, the benefit of the scheme will be discontinued.
Application Form for Single Women Pension Scheme
The applications of the Single Women Pension Scheme are no different from the Aasra Pension. The duly filled application forms of Asra Pension Scheme in Telangana will be obtained from all the eligible candidates. Then the application form will be submitted by the Panchayat Secretary in rural areas, bill collector in urban local bodies and village revenue officer in GHMC areas.

Announcement of pension scheme for single women in Telangana
The Telangana government had announced the introduction of a pension scheme for single women from poor families in Telangana to provide them financial assistance. And a request has been sent to all the MLAs to nominate eligible women under the scheme. Currently, the government is providing pensions to older people, to various helpless persons and widows under the AASRA scheme.
