Importance of skilling India’s youth
As a result of the demographic dividend, India’s young manpower needs to be provided with the skills and capability to meet global challenges. The more importance we give to skill development, the more capable the youth will be. It is important to predict future possibilities and prepare for them today. We have to make India the skill capital of the world. For GSDP courses approved by NSDA, click on the link – http://www.gsdp-envis.gov.in/Upload/GSDP%20Courses_Accepted%20by%20NSDA.pdf
India being the second most populous country in the world is a country with a large working population. India has the advantage of reaping this demographic dividend. However, the high dropout rate coupled with poor business acumen may hinder achieving this dividend. There exists a demand-supply gap for skill sets, both cognitive and practical, at different levels in the environment/forest sectors in India.
